There are really three Longhorns wide receivers that could fall on this part of the list. The first that comes to mind given the activity in the transfer portal so far this week is the former blue-chip recruit and redshirt freshman wide receiver Jaden Alexis.

Alexis does bring plenty of talent to the table. But injuries and Texas overhauling this wide receiver room as a whole could leave Alexis on the outside looking in on the two-deep depth chart for at least the next couple of seasons.

He might want to start fresh elsewhere in a spot where he has more of a legitimate shot to make an impact on the field.

Moreover, given the fact that Sark and new wide receivers coach/passing game coordinator Brennan Marion seem so intent on completing reshaping the receiving corps this offseason, I would expect at least a little bit more change to this position group in the near future.

The additions out of the transfer portal for the Longhorns might be done in the transfer portal this offseason. But it wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest to see at least one of Alexis, third-year wideout Dajon Harrison, and/or sophomore Casey Cain enter the portal in the next couple of days.

I’ve discussed the possibility of either Harrison or Cain entering the portal.

The main reason why I believe Alexis could be the first of this group to enter the portal is the fact that he would be a very highly sought-after wideout in the portal that could have a shot to compete for immediate starting reps at another destination. That might not be the case for either Harrison or Cain.
