A few days ago, Texas football and head coach Steve Sarkisian wrapped up the first visit weekend of a huge month of June on the recruiting trail. Last weekend was the Texas Elite Camp, where Sark and his staff hosted a few dozen visiting recruits from the 2025, 2026, and 2027 recruiting classes on campus.

Texas also hosted a pool party in the midst of the Elite Camp festivities on campus last weekend, which mainly took place on June 3.

Usually, the Elite Camp is a time of the offseason when the Texas coaches are able to extend multiple offers to rising targets early in those cycles. But Texas was particularly selective with the offers it sent out this time around coming out of the Elite Camp.

Texas football extends a few key offers during the Elite Camp

Texas sent out roughly a half-dozen offers during and directly after the Elite Camp to recruits ranging from the 2025 to the 2027 class. Here’s a look at a breakdown of the three of the important new offers for the Longhorns that were handed out during the Elite Camp last weekend.

Zane Rowe, ATH

The youngest prospect the Longhorns offered last weekend during the Elite Camp was the towering 6-foot-5 and 220-pound 2027 Denton Guyer (TX) athlete Zane Row.  The Little Elm, TX, native was the only recruit in the 2027 class to pick up a Texas offer over the weekend.

Rowe is a towering 6-foot-5 for being just 14 years old. He is just now going into his freshman year in high school, but he’s already got the tools to be one of the top recruits in this class.

Texas is one of the early schools to offer the two-way athlete that plays defensive line and receiver/tight end. He also holds offers from the likes of the Ole Miss Rebels, Texas A&M Aggies, Georgia Bulldogs, Arkansas Razorbacks, TCU Horned Frogs, and Texas Tech Red Raiders, among other P5 schools.

Justin Wells of Inside Texas reported on June 3 (paid content) that Texas and Georgia are currently the top two schools very early in this recruitment. Texas clearly made a big impression on Rowe after he received the offer last weekend.

And given that Texas has special teams coordinator/tight ends coach Jeff Banks leading this recruitment, I’d expect that Texas offered him as a tight end instead of a defensive lineman.
