D’antre Robinson, DL

Decision date: July 20

The next set decision date for a top defensive line target for the Longhorns in the 2024 class that appears likely to go their way is the towering 6-foot-4 and 325-pound four-star Orlando (FL) Jones defensive lineman D’antre Robinson. The SEC-sized Florida defensive lineman is a top out-of-state priority at the position for Davis and the Longhorns in the 2024 class this summer.

At the start of the month, Texas and the Florida Gators were neck and neck in the race to land a commitment from Robinson. There was even a good argument that Florida had a slight edge over Texas in this recruitment in late June and early July.

But Texas has all the momentum in this recruitment in the last couple of weeks.

Texas made a huge move during Robinson’s official visit to Austin on the weekend of June 16. Davis and the Longhorns knocked it out of the park during the official visit weekend last month. And the communication has remained constant between Robinson and Davis in the time since.

There is a lot of confidence on the Texas side heading into decision day for Robinson next week. Texas currently looks to be the favorite over Florida for the “big human” defensive lineman out of Orlando.

Robinson was initially scheduled to commit on July 21. But he announced on social media on July 12 that his decision will be moved up one day earlier to July 20.
