Zavion Griffin-Haynes, a four-star EDGE prospect in the class of 2026, announced that he had scheduled 10 spring visits over the months of March and April. Among the 10 were none other than the Texas Longhorns.
Griffin-Haynes, a North Carolina native, also included the NC State Wolfpack and UNC Tar Heels on his list, as well as the LSU Tigers, Georgia Bulldogs, Florida State Seminoles, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Florida Gators, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Alabama Crimson Tide.

According to 247Sports, Griffin-Haynes is the No. 19 EDGE in the class of 2026 and the No. 13 overall athlete coming out of North Carolina that year. Despite scheduling a visit with the Longhorns, Griffin-Haynes actually has yet to receive an offer from Texas
On3 gives Griffin-Haynes a 90.32 industry ranking and the site's experts are currently leaning towards the edge rusher staying home and playing for the Tar Heels. He has visit UNC and NC State five times each and has visited Ohio State three times already.
Griffin-Haynes scheduled his only official visit, so far, with the Georgia Bulldogs for June 6 but has yet to announce if he plans to take any other OVs.
Currently, Texas has the No. 1 recruiting class of 2025 but only has the No. 8 overall class of 2026 prospects, trailing the Oregon Ducks, USC Trojans, LSU Tigers, Texas A&M Aggies, Auburn Tigers, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Penn State Nittany Lions.
