This will make Texas fans feel a little bit better... for now.

Let's hope this provides some relief for Steve Sarkisian and the Texas coaching staff. For months now, it feels like flip rumors come up every single day when it comes to 5-star wideout Easton Royal. Of late, there's been major buzz that Lane Kiffin and LSU are going to keep him in his home state of Louisiana after all, though Sark is working overtime to prevent that from happening.

4-star Texas commit flipping to the LSU Tigers may have flown under fans' radars

Royal sure made it seem like all the growing speculation is a bit overplayed. In a recent social media post, an LSU fan tried to point out that a Royal workout photo hinted that he was going to flip to LSU in the near future. Royal clapped back at him a bit in the best way possible, and it's something Texas fans will appreciate:

The Texas colored cleats may not seem like a big deal, but it feels key that Royal continues to publicly state that he's Texas-bound. Now, we're not saying that this isn't something to worry about moving forward, as Kiffin clearly isn't going to stop trying to make this happen for the Tigers. This is something Sark understands too.

Florida is also in the mix, as Jon Sumrall brought in the speedy wideout for a visit not too long ago. Royal appeared to have a great time in Gainesville, with things only made better for him with fellow 5-star playmaker Jalen Brewster also on campus. At this time, however, it feels like the Gators are on the outside looking in, with this being a two-team battle between LSU and Texas.

Royal originally committed to Texas on Nov. 29, with it being a major get for UT. He chose the Longhorns over a boatload of other schools - he's also ranked the No. 1 receiver in the country according to the 247Sports Composite, which only adds to the hype surrounding his name.

It's also a big reason why the Texas faithful are so fired up about this kid making plays for Sark down the road. Come December when the Early Signing Period arrives, Royal will make things official with Texas... if the Longhorns can hang on to him. The flip talks aren't going to go away, and they could heat up once the season gets here.

We don't want to assume anything on Kiffin, but it won't be a surprise if he gets Royal back to Baton Rouge for a game day. Sark will of course do the same, as a weekend in Austin with the city packed with die-hard fans could get this thing done once and for all. Again, for now, Royal remains committed to Texas, and Sark must do what he can to keep things that way.
