The Longhorns recently added former Florida RB coach Jabbar Juluke to it's coaching staff, and one of his recruits from the 2024 cycle could end up following him to Texas.
Juluke's 3rd highest-ranked running back recruit while at Florida, Kahnen "KD" Daniels, recently announced that he's planning on hitting the transfer portal in January. Daniels was the Gators' top-ranked running back commit in the 2024 recruiting class, and 4th-ranked overall offensive player in the class as well.
With C.J. Baxter recently announcing his intentions to hit the portal as well, the Longhorns will be looking to add another experienced player to the running back room this offseason. Though nothing official has come out in terms of Daniels' connection to Texas, it's easy to see what could be happening here. Daniels' lead recruiter at Florida, and someone who he has a great relationship with left Gainesville for Austin last week. Now KD Daniels hits the portal and is looking for his next "home".

It would be incredibly surprising if we didn't see or hear that Juluke is courting KD Daniels pretty hard right now. Regardless of the fact that Texas has Derrek Cooper already signed, Daniels could end up being an excellent developmental piece for the Longhorns. It's also incredibly important to note that Quintrevion Wisner isn't a lock to be back in 2026. He's still pondering whether or not he wants to make the NFL jump or not, as he's been garnering more and more attention from NFL teams over the last 5-6 weeks.
If Wisner does end up leaving, a player like KD Daniels could immediately step in and help fill that hole in 2026 alongside Cooper and Christian Clark.
