It's truly starting to feel like five-star wide receiver Easton Royal has one foot out the door when it comes to his commitment to the Texas Longhorns and head coach Steve Sarkisian.
This weekend, Royal has seemingly moved yet another inch through the exit door. He is taking an official visit to Gainesville to spend some time with the Florida Gators and see everything they have to offer him.
Royal refuses to shy away from the fact that these programs have impressed him to the nth degree. He has shared numerous posts while on these official visits, many of them being to other SEC teams.

"YUHH WE TURNT INNA SWAMP! I CAN GET USED TO THIS!!" Royal also shared on X about the Gators' stadium.
Just a couple of weeks ago, Royal took his official visit with the LSU Tigers.
He shared post after post about his trip to Baton Rouge, giving the Horns even more of a reason to worry about the solidity of his commitment to Texas.

This has been an ongoing trend for Royal, praising other programs and refusing to officially shut down his recruitment, despite having committed to the Longhorns nearly seven months ago.
5-star WR Easton Royal's visits
It has been exhausting to keep up with Royal's exceedingly busy visit schedule. While he is the highest-rated commit in Texas's class of 2027, there are other blue-chip wide receivers that Sarkisian and the Horns could focus on instead.
- Ole Miss Rebels - 1 official, 2 unofficial
- Texas Longhorns - 1 official, 2 unofficial
- LSU Tigers - 1 official, 2 unofficial
- Florida Gators - 1 official, 1 unofficial
- Miami (FL) Hurricanes - 1 unofficial
- Ohio State Buckeyes - 1 unofficial
As of now, Royal is the only five-star prospect in the class of 2027 committed to the Longhorns, giving Sarkisian's group of recruits a lift to being a top-10 nationally-ranked class. However, even if he decommitted from Texas, Sarkisian could rally numerous wideouts to fill the void left behind by his sudden absence.
Steve Sarkisian may need to clean his hands of Easton Royal
At this point, while Sarkisian is working to cling to Royal, he might be using more energy and resources than the wideout is worth, if he is just going to flip his commitment anyway.
Not to mention the fact that the Longhorns just received a commitment from four-star wide receiver Briceson Thrower, who is scheduled to visit the 40 Acres this weekend.
Alongside Thrower and Royal in Texas's class of 2027 are four-star tight end Brock Williams and three-star tight end JT Geraci, beefing up the Horns' receiver room for the next few years or so.
On the other side of things, Royal does have one more official visit scheduled, and it's to Texas, telling reporters that he scheduled his trip to Austin last on his list for a reason.
"I purposely made Texas my last official visit. Obviously, that’s the school that I’m committed to," Royal said after his OV to LSU. "I still want to keep my options open and give LSU and Florida a chance."
Where the Longhorns are on Royal's calendar hasn't actually done much to ease concerns that he will flip his commitment sooner rather than later.
