Quinn Ewers has battled past injured shoulders, strained obliques, and now a sprained ankle as he has stood in the backfield for the Texas Longhorns. The quarterback has been riddled with injuries throughout his collegiate career for the Horns but repeatedly pushes through pain to show up when Texas needs him most.

This time around, Ewers injured his ankle in Texas' home win versus the Kentucky Wildcats in Week 13. The high-ankle sprain limited the Texas quarterback against the Wildcats and he was later listed as probable on the Longhorns' injury report ahead of their rivalry game against Texas A&M.

However, on Saturday morning, just a few hours before the Longhorns and the Aggies were set to face off for the first time in 13 years, Texas shared that Ewers was ready to start.

Many people have called for Ewers to be benched due to the possibility of injuries still affecting his gameplay, opting for backup quarterback Arch Manning instead. However, all season long, head coach Steve Sarkisian has stood by his go-to guy and his guy is Quinn Ewers.

So far this season, despite missing games with the oblique strain, Ewers has amassed over 2,000 yards through the air for 23 touchdowns – as well as an out-of-character touchdown on the ground in the Red River Rivalry against the Oklahoma Sooners.

Ewers answers the bat call that goes out for him every single week. Whether it has been against new SEC opponents or long-time Texas rivals, Ewers has played well when he has needed to.

No. 3 Texas and No. 20 Texas A&M are scheduled to kick off at 6:30 p.m. CT from Kyle Field in College Station, TX. The game will be broadcast on ABC and ESPN+.
