The Texas Longhorns just demolished the Ole Miss Rebels... once again on the softball field, securing a 6-0 victory to advance to the SEC Softball Tournament semifinals.
In the win, Texas's ace pitcher Teagan Kavan shut out the Rebels, allowing just two hits for Ole Miss through the seven innings and using just 99 pitches to do so.
"I thought we did a really good job of getting the pitches up in the zone and over the plate," head coach Mike White said on Kavan's performance.
With the Horns' fourth win over the Rebels on the year, Texas, Kavan, and White advance to the conference semifinals, where they will face the winner of the last quarterfinal game of the day between the Oklahoma Sooners and Georgia Bulldogs.

Beyond Kavan's dominance in the circle, Texas's bats clearly weren't struggling, even though Katie Stewart and Reese Atwood had slower days at the plate.
"We're deeper than we were last year," Kavan said, comparing this team to last year's National Championship-winning squad. "That's what sticks out to me."
In the bottom of the second inning, second baseman Leighann Goode bombed a single home run to start the Longhorns' scoring for the day, and it was quickly followed by three more runs in the third inning for Texas.
Committing just one error late in the seventh inning, earning six runs on six hits, and watching Kavan sling nine strikeouts across the plate, the Horns looked to be in nearly perfect form, reaching their peak at the perfect time.
This was Texas's 10th shutout of the season, dominating the regular season and gliding through its first appearance in the SEC Tournament of the year.
With the victory, the Longhorns improved to 40-10 overall and looked more than ready to take on whichever opponent they would face in the semifinals.
Texas will face Oklahoma or Georgia in the semifinal on Friday, May 8, at 6:30 p.m. CT, and the game will be broadcast on ESPN.
