The Greatest Show on Dirt is officially upon us.

The College World Series in Omaha is well underway, and Day 2 includes the Texas Longhorns getting their run started.

This evening, the Horns will face the Georgia Bulldogs, another one of the five SEC teams to make it to the CWS this year. With both teams in their best form of the season, it truly looked like it could be anyone's game, but Texas is narrowly favored over the hard-hitting Dawgs.

Odds for Texas baseball vs. Georgia in the College World Series

While it isn't a massive deficit for Georgia, the Horns are favored by a run and a half over the Bulldogs, in a game that is projected to be a relatively high-scoring matchup.

  • Run line: -1.5 Texas
  • Total: +/-11.5 runs
  • Moneyline: -135 Texas, +105 Georgia

Odds are from FanDuel Sportsbook and are liable to change at any time.

The game is projected to have at least 11 total runs between the two teams, both of whom racked up runs in their Super Regionals. In Texas's two-game sweep of the Oregon Ducks, the Horns amassed 17 total runs, only giving up eight to their opponent.

Georgia swept its Super Regional as well, but gave up double-digit runs to its opponent, the Mississippi State Bulldogs. UGA earned 24 runs over the two-game series win over MSU, but the Georgia bullpen also allowed Mississippi State to score 21 runs of its own.

Of course, the Longhorns are also one of the top teams favored to win it all in Omaha, only trailing the North Carolina Tar Heels and, somehow, the Georgia Bulldogs.

How to watch Texas Longhorns vs. Georgia Bulldogs in CWS

The Dawgs and the Horns are the second matchup scheduled for Day 2 of the College World Series, following another all-SEC matchup between the Oklahoma Sooners and the Alabama Crimson Tide.

  • Date & Time: Saturday, June 13 at 7 p.m. CT
  • Location: Charles Schwab Field, Omaha, NE
  • TV & Streaming: ESPN, fuboTV

The winner of Texas-Georgia will face the winner of Oklahoma-Alabama, and the losers of both games will match up in an elimination game.

Day 1 in Omaha featured the other side of the bracket, with the Tar Heels earning a 6-2 win over the Ole Miss Rebels (the final SEC team still in the tournament) and the West Virginia Mountaineers securing a 7-5 win over the Troy Trojans.

So, North Carolina and West Virginia are scheduled to play on Sunday in the winners' side of the bracket, as are the Trojans and the Rebels in the losers' side.

This is Texas head coach Jim Schlossnagle's eighth trip to Omaha, but his first with the Longhorns, having led the TCU Horned Frogs and the Texas A&M Aggies to the College World Series when he was the head coach of those programs.

Texas has the most College World Series appearances of any team in the country, as well as the most NCAA Tournament wins.

This is the Horns' 39th trip to Omaha. Texas has won the National Championship six times, finishing as CWS runners-up on six occasions.
