The impact of hosting dozens of blue-chip prospects for the comeback victory over the Ohio State Buckeyes was immediately felt on the 40 Acres.
Then, it took just a few days for the Texas Longhorns to start trending in the right direction for even more top recruits, many of whom had yet to commit to any program.
Before, during, and after the game, current Texas commits and many players already projected to end up with the Horns were sharing their excitement on social media. By Monday, more players had Texas and head coach Steve Sarkisian as their frontrunner.
Texas trending for Brysen Wright, Micah Rhodes after Ohio State win
Throughout the day on Monday, top prospects from across the country were sharing their praise for the Longhorns, with recruiting experts across the board pointing to Texas as the team at the front of the pack of those chasing said recruits.
"My favorite part about the trip was the game and stadium. It was crazy," Brysen Wright told Rivals' Chad Simmons.
Wright, a native of Florida, is the No. 1 overall prospect in the class of 2028 and has more than two dozen offers from Division I programs. His trip to Austin on Saturday was his first visit with the Longhorns.
On3's Sam Spiegelman reported that four-star running back Micah Rhodes had the Horns at the front of his mind after the weekend. Rhodes, who is a native Texan, is the No. 5 running back in the recruiting cycle and a top-15 prospect out of the Lone Star State.
"They’ve shown me I am a priority in their recruiting class. The more I visit Texas, I see why athletes come to Austin. Great football and great people in the building," Rhodes told Spiegelman.
A win over one of the top teams in the country is obviously good for your record, strength of resume, ranking, College Football Playoff argument, and morale. But it is also incredibly beneficial on the recruiting trail, and that much is already being reflected after Texas's incredible win over Ohio State.
That much was reflected by current Texas commits, like five-stars Easton Royal and Ismael Camara out of the class of 2027, immediately after the game, and it has since started to reflect in the next recruiting cycle, which was exactly what the Horns were hoping for.
Sarkisian hasn't received a commitment quite yet, but it has been less than 48 hours since the Longhorns pulled off what looked to be impossible. Give it time, and before you know it, more blue-chip prospects will join Neimann Lawrence in Texas's class of 2028.
