In December, the Texas Longhorns received a commitment from three-star safety Greedy James (I know, it's a perfect name for a defensive back).
Since then, powerhouse program after powerhouse program has tried to flip James' commitment to no avail.

Now, it looks like one team, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, has finally wormed its way into James' mind, and all of a sudden, Texas might need to get ready to put more effort (and maybe NIL money) into keeping James as a Longhorn.
"Notre Dame is a huge program," James said as he told Rivals' Sam Spiegelman that he had scheduled an official visit to South Bend.
Greedy James has two official visits: Texas and Notre Dame
Unsurprisingly, James will take yet another trip to Austin for an official visit with the Horns. However, he has now added an official visit to Notre Dame to his calendar to check out all that the Fighting Irish have to offer.

"I was really excited," James said. "Notre Dame is a huge program, especially for people from my school."
James is a native Texan, growing up just three hours from the Horns' home in Austin. However, the Fighting Irish have a lengthy history of poaching top talents from other states, and it's hard to deny the allure of a program that's only two years removed from its spot in the National Championship.
"I know it's a big relationship era now. A lot of things can happen. You never know what can happen," James said. "There's still a lot of time until signing day. So definitely keeping my options open while also being in my commitment to Texas."
Well, he certainly made it sound like his commitment to the Horns is anything but cemented. So, it might be time for Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian to consider just how badly he wants to keep James in his class of 2027.
Right now, Texas's class of 2027 ranks ninth in the nation and includes five-star wideout Easton Royal (who Notre Dame is also trying to flip), four-star EDGE Cameron Hall, and four other blue-chip prospects.
The loss of James from the recruiting cycle wouldn't be earthshattering, but it certainly wouldn't feel good for Sark and the Longhorns.
