While the Longhorns couldn't secure the series win against their rivals, the Oklahoma Sooners, over the weekend, Texas still went out with a bang when Katie Stewart hit a walk-off home run to secure the third game win for the Horns.
As soon as Stewart knew it was gone (which was almost immediately), she slammed her bat down in triumph, opting to do something a little different than the usual bat flip.
It was the exact energy that every Longhorn in the nation was feeling when they saw her ball leave the park, but (unsurprisingly to most Texas fans) the Sooners found cause to complain about her celebration.
I think OU people are proving themselves to be the biggest hypocrites in sports over this btw.

They spike the bat and do this for WALKS. They’re mad Katie Stewart did it for a WALKOFF HOMERUN in Extra Innings https://t.co/J5hQFo7AhW
However, a few clips of Oklahoma softball players choosing to do similar celebrations over lesser achievements should silence every single Sooner who is trying to give Stewart grief.
Sooners constantly flips bats, they deserved Texas's bat slam
From getting hit by a pitch to "earning" a walk, the Sooners have become rather notorious for their raucous celebrations as they advance to first base.
Here’s more typical Oklahoma behavior after a HBP.

Spare me with the flipping bat talk. pic.twitter.com/8GIIjg7vr5
Sure, it probably didn't feel good to miss out on sweeping the series because of the walk-off home run by Stewart, and it probably felt even worse to watch her celebrate the at-bat. However, trying to call it bad sportsmanship or anything along those lines when your own program is known for this kind of behaviour is laughable at best.
I’m gonna need to see the rest of that bat flip pic.twitter.com/zYHsA5jSuO

With the series win, Oklahoma regained the No. 1 spot in the national rankings, knocking the Longhorns down to No. 8 in the standings.
There's still a lot of the season remaining, including the SEC Tournament and the entirety of the postseason. Maybe, just maybe, Texas can get a couple more bat flips and slams (with due cause) against their rivals.
