The Texas Longhorns have a new man on campus as Sean Miller takes over as the head coach of the men's basketball team. With a new coach comes unavoidable changes to the roster and an influx of players looking to transfer into or out of the program.

Most recently, former Georgia Bulldog guard Silas Demary Jr. announced that he had entered the transfer portal to get out of Athens. To put it simply: Miller and the Horns have to try to bring the young guard to Austin.

Demary, who just finished his sophomore season with the Bulldogs, averaged 13.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.7 steals per game over the season.

The North Carolina native was a four-star point guard coming out of high school. Demary was the No. 3 athlete out of NC and the No. 17 point guard in the class of 2023. Former Texas head coach Rodney Terry did not extend an offer to Demary when he was going through his initial recruitment process.

Demary's two-year veteran status could add a lot to a program like the Longhorns, which will be going through a rebuilding process as stars like Kadin Shedrick reached the end of their eligibility and while under a new head coach.

The Horns just missed out on recruiting a five-star high school prospect, Koa Peat, who committed to his home-state team, the Arizona Wildcats.

Miller also has the opportunity to recruit his former players from the Xavier Musketeers to join him in Austin, all of who could be incredible additions to the Texas depth chart ahead of the 2025-26 season.
