Jordan Pope, Tramon Mark, Chendall Weaver, and Dailyn Swain. Those are just a few of the departures that the Texas men's basketball team knows it will suffer before next season.

That means Longhorns head coach Sean Miller has quite a bit of rebuilding to do, especially at the guard position. Well, the transfer portal only opened yesterday, and already, Miller has been as active as possible, looking to fill the holes in his roster.

Before anyone could blink, Miller reached out to VCU guard Terrence Hill Jr., who became a household name when the VCU Rams upset the North Carolina Tar Heels in the NCAA Tournament.

Hill entered the portal yesterday, and Miller, along with about two dozen other programs, has already been in contact with the four-star transfer point guard.

Texas Longhorns already targeting Terrence Hill Jr.

This season, Hill averaged 15.0 points, 2.8 assists, 2.7 rebounds, and 0.6 steals per game for the Rams. After going extremely under-recruited out of high school, Hill earned a four-star rating in the transfer portal.

So far, 22 programs have reached out to Hill, including Texas, the Oregon Ducks (his home-state team), the Kansas Jayhawks, the Kentucky Wildcats, and more.

With the departure of Pope, Mark, and Weaver, the Horns are in desperate need of experience and depth at the point guard position, and those are both attributes that Hill brings to the table.

Hill played two seasons at VCU, so he brings a good amount of experience along with him, which is something that Miller and the Horns need at guard, especially as Texas is likely to rely on true-freshmen Austin Goosby and Bo Ogden at the shooting guard position next season.

The chaos that follows the opening of the transfer portal is only just underway, but Miller and his staff are clearly ready to be as active and aggressive as necessary to pick up the players they need.
