In the latest player ratings from both 247Sports and On3/Rivals, the usual suspects were among those listed as five-star prospects, including Texas Longhorn commit and five-star wide receiver Easton Royal.
One major target in the Horns' sights was also among the group. Interior offensive lineman Ismael Camara received his fifth star in these new ratings.
Camara is a Texas native, and Longhorn head coach Steve Sarkisian quickly made the offensive line prospect a focus. Now, as a five-star prospect, adding a player like Camara to the Horns' recruiting class could do wonders to bring in even more talent.

In the rankings, Camara earned an upgrade as well, landing as the No. 28 overall prospect, No. 4 interior offensive lineman, and No. 4 recruit out of the state of Texas.
Additionally, Camara is currently projected to land with the Oregon Ducks, a complete snub to the in-state connection he shares with the Longhorns. In other words, Sarkisian and his staff need to put in a little more effort if they want to keep Camara in the state of Texas, instead of watching him go to another program.
At this time, he only has two official visits on his calendar: one trip to Oregon and another to SMU. The Mustangs are another in-state program with eyes on Camara as well.
However, Camara has taken three previous trips to Austin, but chose not to schedule an official visit to the 40 Acres. He has yet to schedule his fourth trip to see what else the Longhorns have to offer.
Easton Royal cemented in top-10 of 2027 class
To the surprise of no one, Royal was still one of the top 10 players in the recruiting cycle, earning his place as the No. 6 prospect in the recruiting class of 2027 and the highest-rated wide receiver in the cycle.
Similarly, five-star cornerback John Meredith III, another target of the Longhorns, cemented himself among the top 10 of his recruiting class, ranked No. 2 overall.
Another target of the Horns, Jalen Brewster, who visited Texas over the past weekend despite being committed to the Texas Tech Red Raiders, was ranked No. 1 overall by On3 and Rivals.

So far, Sarkisian's class of 2027 ranks 14th in the nation, one spot behind the UCLA Bruins but one spot ahead of the Ole Miss Rebels. In the SEC, the Horns' upcoming recruiting class ranks fifth in the conference, only trailing the Texas A&M Aggies, Oklahoma Sooners, Florida Gators, and Auburn Tigers.
While the Longhorns are targeting a slew of players ranked among the top 32 players in the cycle, Sarkisian and his staff must continue to expand their search and their efforts to bolster the recruiting class.
For further context, the Longhorns landed the No. 10 recruiting class of 2026 (ranked fifth in the SEC) in the recruiting rankings and are just two years removed from landing the No. 1 nationally-ranked recruiting class of 2025.
Landing recruits like Camara and flipping prospects like Brewster could send the recruiting class flying up both the national and conference rankings.
