Between trips to other schools and interviews about other teams, Easton Royal hasn't shied away from the fact that dozens of programs are trying to flip his commitment from the Texas Longhorns.

Most recently, the five-star wide receiver took a visit to LSU and shared a ton of content from his time with the Tigers, putting the Horns on edge once again.

However, despite Royal's clear interest in the LSU Tigers, the Longhorns actually received a bit of good news about the remainder of his recruitment process.

It was reported that Royal had cancelled his scheduled visits with the Ole Miss Rebels and Tennessee Volunteers. He did, however, keep his trip to Texas and another visit to see the Florida Gators on his calendar.

With the cancellations, it appeared as though Royal was narrowing his recruitment process down to the finish line. Royal's trip to the 40 Acres is scheduled for June 19, one week after his trip to Florida.

Yes, the wideout has been committed to the Longhorns for over six months, but he clearly hasn't shut down his recruitment process with numerous trips to teams other than Texas.

Throughout his recruitment, Royal has taken 11 visits so far, with his trips to Austin and Gainesville making a baker's dozen for the blue-chip prospect. The official visit to the Longhorns will be his third trip to see Texas and head coach Steve Sarkisian.

While Royal hasn't officially said that there is potential of his commitment being flipped, he hasn't taken any steps to shy away from his interest in other programs or to shut down the rumors that he is undeniably on flip watch.

Currently, Royal is the highest-rated player in Texas's class of 2027 commitments, as the only five-star prospect in the group. The Horns' upcoming recruiting class ranks 13th in the nation and fifth in the SEC.

If the five-star wide receiver flipped his commitment to LSU or Florida, it would send Sarkisian's group of recruits plummeting down both the national and conference rankings.
