The Texas Longhorns were already on edge with five-star commit Easton Royal taking a trip to Baton Rouge this weekend on an official visit with the LSU Tigers and head coach.
Then, things got even worse when Royal posted one of his first pictures from the visit, and the Horns learned that Kiffin wasn't the only coach working to flip the blue-chip wide receiver's commitment.
Royal posted a picture with National Championship-winning former LSU head coach Ed Orgeron, whom Kiffin hired as a recruiting and defensive assistant.
"Geaux Tigers," Royal added alongside the picture, proving that Orgeron wasn't wasting any time on the recruiting trail.

Orgeron led the Tigers to their 2019 National Championship, a charge led by legendary quarterback Joe Burrow. Now, he's working to bring in similar talent for LSU, building a monster of a roster alongside Kiffin.

Seeing Royal spend time with the title-winning head coach wasn't exactly a great sign of the Horns, who haven't won a National Championship since 2005, and head coach Steve Sarkisian has never secured a national title, or an SEC one like Orgeron has.

Royal is the highest-rated and only five-star commitment in Texas's class of 2027 recruits, topping a nationally-ranked top-15 recruiting class. Losing Royal could tank the Longhorns' ranking and create an uphill battle for Sarkisian's argument to play for the Horns instead of teams like LSU.
However, even with his commitment to Texas, he hasn't stopped taking visits to other programs and hasn't held back on his praise for the Tigers, among a few other programs.
Between trips to Baton Rouge, South Bend, Gainesville, and more, it has started to feel like Royal's flip is imminent, and it has genuinely felt like he has been on flip-watch since the day he committed to the Longhorns.
Royal also reposted news of which blue-chip recruits would be in Baton Rouge this weekend, which obviously included his own name, as well as one of his views near the Tigers' campus.
To put it lightly, Sarkisian and the Horns might need to put a little more weight behind keeping Royal in their class, or they are running the risk of losing their biggest commitment in the upcoming class.
