The Texas Longhorns are already hot on the recruiting trail for the class of 2028, even with dozens of prospects from the class of 2027 coming to Austin for official visits over the next few weeks.
That includes head coach Steve Sarkisian working to bring in four-star quarterback Neimann Lawrence, who is the No. 6 QB in the class of 2028.
Lawrence, a native of Miami, FL, was highly expected to land with his hometown team, the Miami Hurricanes, but a recent expert prediction has him donning burnt orange and committing to the Horns.
Rivals' Steve Witlfong dropped a "Fong Bomb," the name for his expert predictions, that Lawrence would commit to Texas over Miami, the Ohio State Buckeyes, and quite a few more powerhouse programs.
Neimann Lawrence projected to commit to Texas Longhorns
Lawrence has already received over two dozen offers from Division I programs, and has taken 26 total visits, all unofficial, with the young quarterback still being two years removed from college.
Unsurprisingly, most of those visits have been with the Hurricanes, taking eight trips to Miami's campus and facilities. He has, however, also made two trips to Austin to visit the Longhorns.

How does everyone know that an athlete this young could be an elite quarterback? Well, just take a look at his stats so far.
During his freshman season, Lawerence amassed 2,777 passing yards for 31 touchdowns and a minimal eight interceptions. He also ran for 100 yards and four more touchdowns, and even brought in a reception for 14 yards.
In simple terms, Lawrence is already an elite quarterback even though he's just 16 years old.

At 6-foot-2 and 195 pounds, he's still slightly undersized for a collegiate quarterback, standing two inches and about 25 pounds smaller than Texas's current QB1, Arch Manning.
However, the Longhorns have made it work, incredibly well, with smaller quarterbacks in the backfield, even since Sarkisian took over the program just five years ago. For example, former Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers is just 6-foot-2, and to this day, barely weighs more than 200 pounds.
As Lawerence continues to improve his on-field and in-game skills, he will also be in the weight room, adding muscle to his frame. Not to mention, at just 16 years old, he could also easily grow an inch or two before he joins the Horns on the 40 Acres.
