The Longhorns looked rocky against the Commodores when Texas visited Nashville to take on the surprise SEC team of the year, Vanderbilt. While the Horns walked away with the win, both the offensive and defensive units showed their flaws throughout the game.

One major issue for the Texas offense was how many sacks it allowed on quarterback Quinn Ewers. The Commodores got to Ewers numerous times, earning four sacks on the quarterback who has already struggled with injuries this season.

A top-tier football team cannot allow this kind of pressure on their leading man. Ewers lost 20 yards on the ground for the Longhorns because of the sacks and repeatedly threw under pressure which led to two interceptions throughout the game.

Yes, Texas earned the win and that's the most important part of the game. However, even the AP Poll voters dropped the Longhorns a spot in the rankings because of their mediocre performance. A big part of that? The fact that Texas struggled to produce on offense.

Ewers only completed 27 of 37 pass attempts for a minimal 288 yards and 3 touchdowns through the air. Not to mention, the offensive line struggled to support the run game and the team only earned 104 rushing yards.

Beyond the four sacks, Vanderbilt was able to amass 72 total tackles and 9 tackles for loss. Meanwhile, Texas only produced 59 total tackles and 2 sacks by the end of the game.

The O-Line needs to step up its game as Texas enters its final four games of the season. While Florida and Kentucky might not be the toughest opponents, visiting both Arkansas and Texas A&M will be true road tests for the Horns.
