A series sweep has never been so sweet. The Texas baseball team swept the Georgia Bulldogs, who defeated the Horns twice during the football season, in a revenge-exacting three-game domination by the Longhorns.

Over the three-game series, the Horns' bats were hot as the Texas bullpen repeatedly shut down the Bulldogs' offensive attempts.

By the end of the weekend, the then-No. 5 Texas Longhorns had swept the then-No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs, improving the Horns' overall record to 26-4 and returning them to a winning streak.

In the first game, Texas walked away with a dominant 5-1 victory over the Bulldogs to kick off the three-game series. Catcher Rylan Galvan had one of the five hits by the Longhorns and earned two RBIs as Will Gasparino, Kimble Schuessler, and Casey Borba combined for the three other RBIs in the game.

While the Texas bullpen didn't hold Georgia to just one run in the second game, the Horns still dominated the Bulldogs with a 5-4 win ahead of the final game in the series.

The third game went to extra innings as the two SEC opponents duked it out. In the anxiety-inducing game that stretched into 10 innings, the Longhorns eked out a one-run win over the Bulldogs to secure a 4-3 victory and the series sweep.

With yet another series win over a ranked opponent, the Longhorns continued to climb in the latest standings according to D1Baseball, which is one of the many NCAA-accredited rankings.

Now, Texas is the No. 2 team in the nation, only trailing the Arkansas Razorbacks, who the Longhorns will face over the first weekend in May.
