The Texas baseball and softball teams are each a few SEC series deep into their 2025 seasons, and the Longhorns are already dominating their newly minted conference opponents. Most recently, the baseball team secured a series sweep over Missouri as the softball team earned a series win over Mississippi State.
With the wins, both continued their winning records against SEC opponents and bolstered their standings in the national rankings. Currently, Texas softball holds the No. 1 ranking in the country. With the sweep over the Missouri Tigers, the baseball team moved up to No. 5 in the nation.

Texas softball vs. Mississippi State
No. 1 Texas and No. 18 Mississippi State clashed for a three-game series, and after dropping the first game against the Mississippi State Bulldogs, the Longhorns stormed through the second and third games in the series.
In the first game, Texas lost by one run (3-4), but in the second game, the Horns found their batting to win 7-3. In the final matchup, the Longhorns dominated on offense once again, and the bullpen continued its dominance as Texas won 7-2.
Next, Texas will visit the Missouri Tigers for a three-game series before the Horns host the Texas State Bobcats for a mid-week game.

After losing a mid-week trap game against the UTSA Road Runners, the Longhorn baseball team has torn through its opponents, defeating the then-No. 2 LSU Tigers in two of their three games, the Sam Houston Bearkats 13-3, and sweeping the Missouri Tigers.
Against Missouri, the Horns' bullpen was dominant, allowing just nine total runs over the three games. Meanwhile, the Texas offense was on fire as the Longhorns racked up 29 total runs to earn three wins over the Tigers.
