Another Longhorn has entered the transfer portal, bringing the total number of players from the Texas men's basketball team to do so to three. While losing players is never ideal, new head coach Sean Miller has recruited the No. 2 class in the nation from the transfer portal.

Jamie Vinson, a first-year power forward, entered the portal after playing in just nine games for the Horns last season. He averaged 2.2 points and 1.1 rebounds per game, clocking in for less than five minutes per appearance.

Who’s leaving Texas? Key names already hitting the transfer portal

  • Devon Pryor - Small forward - Signed with Oregon
  • Malik Presley - Shooting guard - Still in the transfer portal
  • Jamie Vinson - Power forward - Still in the transfer portal

None of the three former Texas players contributed significant playing time or stats while on the Forty Acres; all played under former head coach Rodney Terry. Losing both Pryor and Vinson reduces the size that is returning for the Longhorns, however, Miller has filled the gap with some impressive recruits of his own.

Which players have signed with Sean Miller and the Longhorns?

  • Dailyn Swayn - Small forward - Xavier
  • Lassina Traore - Power forward - Xavier
  • Camden Heide - Small forward - Purdue
  • Matas Vokietaitis - Center - Florida Atlantic
  • Simeon Wilcher - Shooting guard - St. John's

Not only has Miller brought two of his former Xavier Musketeers along with him to Austin, but he has brought in three other four-star transfers. In fact, all five of the players transferring to Texas were given four-star rankings by On3.

Currently, the Longhorns lay claim to the No. 2 transfer portal class this offseason, surpassing the Michigan Wolverines with Wilcher's commitment. Texas only trails the Kentucky Wildcats in the transfer portal recruiting rankings.
