There is a pride that comes with calling yourself a Longhorn. Whether you're a student, an athlete, a coach, or a staff member at Texas, you are proud to wear burnt orange.

That, for a large part, is due to the fact that the Horns have dominated college athletes for decades. That trend undeniably continued this season as Texas found its footing in football, made lengthy runs in both the men's and women's NCAA Tournaments, and dominated on the diamond.

In fact, the Texas Longhorns reached a level of success that nobody else could, earning wins across the board to set themselves apart from the rest of college athletic programs.

Texas Longhorns in a class of their own

With the Horns' final regular-season victory in baseball, Texas cemented itself as the only FBS athletic program to earn 10 or more wins in football, 25 or more in volleyball, 20 or more in both men's and women's basketball, and 40 or more in both baseball and softball.

To put it simply, nobody is winning like the Longhorns are winning.

Texas Longhorns 2025-26 records by program

  • Texas football: 10-3 (6-2 SEC)
  • Texas volleyball: 26-4 (13-2 SEC)
  • Texas men's basketball: 21-15 (9-9 SEC)
  • Texas women's basketball: 35-4 (13-3 SEC)
  • Texas baseball: 40-13 (19-10 SEC)
  • Texas softball: 46-11 (16-8 SEC)

The baseball and softball seasons are still unfolding, with the baseball team waiting to learn what its seed in the NCAA Tournament will be and the softball team fighting for its return to the Women's College World Series.

The volleyball team and both basketball teams both exceeded the mark of 25 or 20 wins, respectively, making their accomplishments even more impressive with runs through the sports' NCAA Tournaments in the postseason.

Football earned 10 wins on the season, capped off by a dominant victory over the Michigan Wolverines, despite falling short of the College Football Playoff for the first time in four years.

While Texas has already earned its place atop the rest of the nation, a few more wins for the baseball and softball programs certainly wouldn't hurt, especially if they came with a National Championship trophy or two.

Beyond these "Big Six" sports, the Longhorns haven't slowed down their winning ways. Texas secured the National Championship in men's swimming and diving for the 18th time in program history, and the men's tennis team advanced to the NCAA Championship match, finishing as National Runners Up.

The Horns also earned a third-place ranking and a spot at Nationals in rowing, as well as the women's golf team working its way through the NCAA Championships as you read this.
