This offseason, Texas fans were shaken to their core, at least momentarily. Four women's basketball players entered the transfer portal, leaving the Longhorns for what they believed would be greener pastures for their careers.
The Texas Longhorns even suffered two departures from the starting five, despite Texas making a return trip to the Final Four: guard Jordan Lee and forward Justice Carlton. Bench players Aaliyah Crump and Aaliyah Moore hit the portal as well. All four committed to a new program within days of transferring.

After learning Texas's home-and-away SEC schedule for the upcoming season, the Longhorns have learned they will host two of their former players for a little bit of homecoming: Lee, who transferred to the South Carolina Gamecocks, and Moore, who now plays for the Tennessee Volunteers.
Texas women's basketball home-and-away SEC schedule
The only team that the Longhorns will play twice in the SEC regular season will be none other than the Texas A&M Aggies.
- Home: Texas A&M Aggies, Arkansas Razorbacks, Alabama Crimson Tide, Florida Gators, Missouri Tigers, South Carolina Gamecocks, Tennessee Volunteers, Vanderbilt Commodores
- Away: Texas A&M Aggies, Auburn Tigers, Georgia Bulldogs, Kentucky Wildcats, LSU Tigers, Ole Miss Rebels, Mississippi State Bulldogs, Oklahoma Sooners
The SEC has released the home/away assignments for its upcoming basketball season. @TexasWBB has drawn Texas A&M as its home-and-home series.

Home: A&M, Ark, Bama, UF, MIZ, USC, Tenn, Vandy
Away: A&M, Auburn, Uga, UK, LSU, Ole Miss, MSU, OU
When USC and Tennessee come to Austin, Lee and Moore will return to their former home arena. On the flip side, Texas transfer addition Zya Vann will have her own reunion when the Longhorns take a trip north to play the Oklahoma Sooners on the road in Norman.

The reunions add an extra layer to an already intense SEC schedule, not to mention the fact that Texas head coach Vic Schaefer has hinted that a couple of his transfer portal losses were due to tampering. Another former Longhorn was dismissed from the program altogether as well.
Of course, the Vols have one of the strongest histories in all of women's basketball, and the Gamecocks have had one of the most dominant runs in recent memory.
So, it wouldn't be a huge surprise if Lee and Moore simply wanted to play somewhere new. However, having to return to their former home and face their former teammates might rub a little salt in the wounds that will still be extremely fresh come next season.
While Lee and Moore both stuck around for another season or so in the SEC, Crump and Carlton landed in new conferences. Crump transferred to play for the Duke Blue Devils, joining a team that made it to the Elite Eight last season. Moore landed with her hometown team, the Houston Cougars, who failed to punch their ticket to the NCAA Tournament this past year.
The dates and times of the matchups are yet to be announced, but it shouldn't be a surprise if fans don't necessarily give Lee and Moore the warmest welcome upon their returns to the 40 Acres.
