3) Turnovers
Although Texas didn’t turn the ball over last Saturday, they didn’t force any either. On the surface, this might sound like a very obvious area to improve. But consider this statistic: as a head coach, when Charlie Strong wins the turnover margin by at least one, he is 31-2 overall.

It’s not exactly rocket science, but when Charlie Strong coached teams win the turnover battle, they tend to do pretty darn well.
Unfortunately for Texas, the last few games have been pretty rough when it comes to turnovers. But if they can resolve this issue and force an interception or two, they should give themselves a better chance to succeed.
Fun fact, but not only does Charlie Strong perform well when he wins the turnover battle, so do his players. Last season, Texas won the turnover battle in every game they won last season, with the lone exception being the Texas Tech game.
While there are a number of other areas the Longhorns can also improve, these are three simple areas that the team must address before they take a step forward in their development.
