With all the discussion about how the Texas Longhorns desperately need a boost on the recruiting trail, every visit a recruit makes to the 40 Acres will be magnified.

This weekend is key for both the Longhorns football and basketball program, though, as key targets like defensive end Andrew Fitzgerald, forward Braxton Blackwell, and forward Clevon Brown, will all make visits to UT.

Here’s a look at who will be in attendance for Texas’ third home against Oklahoma State on Saturday.

Football:

Defensive end Andrew Fitzgerald highlights the list of football recruits visiting this weekend. The Flower Mound Marcus product recently picked up an offer from Texas this past Thursday. A three-star prospect, according to 247Sports, the Longhorns have to be pleased with how quickly they were able to get Fitzgerald on campus for a visit. He may not be the defensive tackle the Horns covet, but he’s a high-motor player who could be a nice piece along the defensive line.

Cy Springs wide receiver Donnell Dunn will also be in attendance on Saturday. With three wide receivers already committed to the 2016 class, Dunn is an interesting name to watch. He was one of the top performers at the Under The Lights Camp this summer, so it wouldn’t be too surprising if the Longhorns did eventually extend an offer to him.

As for the underclassmen, Roshauud Paul will visit UT this weekend after decomitting from TCU. Defensive tackle Caleb Thomas from Mansfield High School will be making his second visit to Texas this weekend after he made the trip for the game agasint Rice. Pflugerville Hendrickson offensive lineman Dominic Pastucci will make his third unofficial visit to Texas this weekend. The 6-foot-5 lineman is fielding interest from Purdue, SMU and Texas, but has only made visits to Austin so far.

Texas commits wide receiver Reggie Hemphill-Mapps, and cornerback Obi Eboh, will also be in attendance for Saturday’s game against Oklahoma State. Both players are said to be committed to Texas and remain key pieces of the Longhorns 2016 class.

Basketball:

Shaka Smart and the Longhorns basketball staff will host a pair of big-time targets this weekend.

Four-star Oak Hill Academy (VA) forward Braxton Blackwell is one of the more coveted players in the country, with Alabama, Indiana, Kansas and Vanderbilt all in hot pursuit of the 6-foot-7 forward. This weekend’s visit is key for the Longhorns staff, especially since there has been some chatter about Blackwell possibly returning home to play at Vanderbilt.

It will be tough for Texas to sign Blackwell, but considering they’ve had a long relationship with him, they certainly have a chance, especially if this weekend goes well.

Churchill (San Antonio) power forward Clevon Brown will also visit UT this weekend. Like Blackwell, Brown is said to be down to Texas and Vanderbilt.

The high-motor forward will commit in October, according to SABO Warhawks coach Seth Engelken. For Smart and company, an early commitment from Brown could really help their 2016 class. On the court, his athleticism would fit in well with Smart’s up-tempo attack on both the offensive and defensive end.

If both visits go well this weekend, Texas could really establish a presence for themselves in the 2016 class.
