The Texas Longhorns and head coach Steve Sarkisian are an unstoppable duo on the recruiting trail and now, one of their blue-chip commits is gaining recognition for being an unstoppable force himself.

This week, five-star prospect Jermaine Bishop Jr. broke into the top 10 of the Texas high school football record books for career receiving yards and career receptions.

Throughout his three seasons of varsity football, Bishop has already amassed 257 receptions for 4,382 receiving yards, both of which rank 10th in the state's high school rankings. However, the blue-chip athlete isn't just a good wideout.

Jermaine Bishop could play any position for Texas

While he doesn't have the stature to be a lineman and his leg is untested as a kicker or punter, Bishop could play just about any other role for the Longhorns.

Beyond his receiving stats (where he has earned a jaw-dropping 50 touchdowns), Bishop has also earned 86 passing yards and one touchdown through the air. He has 881 career rushing yards and 15 touchdowns on the ground.

Then, on the defensive side of the ball, he has racked up 152 total tackles (98 solo), nine tackles for loss, 18 pass deflections, 15 interceptions (467 yards), five forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.

Simply put, the young athlete is quite literally everywhere on the field and is doing everything at an exceptional level.

Bishop committed to the Horns on May 14, 2025, and has since done nothing but solidify his loyalty to Texas. He is one of the highest-rated players in Sarkisian's class of 2026 recruits (which ranks eighth nationally), alongside five-star quarterback Dia Bell, five-star edge Richard Wesley, and five-star linebacker Tyler Atkinson.
