Yes, you are once again reading a story about five-star wide receiver and current Texas commit Easton Royal playing with the heartstrings of the Longhorns.

This time around, while in Gainesville for his official visit with the Florida Gators, Royal shared how impressed he was by the program and head coach Jon Sumrall, giving the first-year SEC coach a leg up on Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian and LSU head coach Lane Kiffin.

"It makes it a lot more complicated," Royal said about the trip via reporter Corey Bender. "Coach Sumrall, I think he’s probably the most energetic coach out of the three schools."

Seemingly, Royal was blown away by the energy and passion of Sumrall, who was named as the Gators' head coach just a handful of months ago after Florida fired former head coach Billy Napier. Not to mention the fact that Kiffin is known for having one of the biggest personalities in all of college football, much less just in comparison to other head coaches in the SEC.

Sarkisian and the Longhorns are going to have to do a lot more to ensure that Royal remains a Texas commit, but the best news is that his official visit to the 40 Acres was still on the horizon while he made his trip to Gainesville.

"Obviously, that's the school I'm committed to. I still want to keep my options open, and give LSU and Florida a chance," Royal said about his official visits, after canceling OVs with Ole Miss,Tennessee.

Easton Royal clearly infatuated with the Florida Gators

Beyond his direct comments about the Gators, Royal once again wasn't shy about posting a plethora of content from his official visit, sharing numerous pictures and videos throughout the weekend and captioning them with Florida-focused one-liners.

"YUHH WE TURNT INNA SWAMP! I CAN GET USED TO THIS!!" Royal shared in one post, followed closely by another that read, "I'm loving it a lot."

While Royal has been committed to Texas for nearly seven months, he has done nothing to reassure the Longhorns other than repeating the fact that he's committed to the Austin side. From unofficial trips to teams across the country, to his recent OVs to the Horns' own conference opponents, Royal has taken full advantage of being the No. 1 wideout in the class of 2027.

At the end of the day, in the current age of college sports, commitments don't mean as much as they used to, especially with National Letters of Intent being a thing of the past. Nowadays, prospects don't have to shut down their recruitment when they commit, and they certainly don't have to stop entertaining the attention of programs other than the one they are committed to.

As of now, Royal is the highest-rated player in the Longhorns' class of 2027, and the only five-star prospect in the group. If he were to flip his commitment, it would be devastating for the Horns' standing in the national recruiting rankings, not to mention that if he flipped to Florida or LSU, it would send Texas plummeting down the SEC rankings.

Next weekend, the third straight weekend of official visits in Austin, Royal will come to town, and it could very easily be the final opportunity for Sarkisian and the Horns to show him that he belongs at Texas. Apparently, the Horns' head coach needs to make sure he brings the energy, or he simply might not stack up against the other coaches Royal has spent time with of late.
