While it took a few games, Arch Manning eventually grew into the elite quarterback everyone had expected him to be last season.
With 3,163 passing yards, 399 rushing yards, four receiving yards, and 37 total touchdowns, he reached star status by the time the season reached its end.
Now, Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian has brought in the pieces to ensure that Manning and the Longhorns take the next step: the top of the national standings.
One of the biggest pieces that Sarkisian recruited from the transfer portal was offensive depth at the O-Line, in the backfield alongside Manning, and downfield targets for the Horns' starting QB.
The star of the transfer recruiting class? Wide receiver Cam Coleman. And his connection with Manning is already shining brightly on the 40 Acres.
Cam Coleman and Arch Manning already firing on all cylinders
Sarkisian shared that the pair had connected for two touchdowns in a practice session, highlighting the already blossoming connection between Texas's QB1 and expected WR1 as Coleman has flown past fellow wideouts Ryan Wingo, Emmett Mosley, and more on the depth chart.

Coleman joined the Longhorns after two seasons at Auburn, where former Tigers' head coach Hugh Freeze failed to make the most of his skillset without consistency at QB, rotating through Jackson Arnold, Ashton Daniels, Deuce Knight, Peyton Throne, Hank Brown, Holden Geriner, and Walker White.
Yes, you read that correctly, Coleman played alongside seven different quarterbacks over just two years with the Auburn Tigers.
While Sarkisian might rotate in backup quarterbacks like KJ Lacey, MJ Morris, and Dia Bell, the Longhorns haven't seen that many quarterbacks in five years, much less two seasons.
Coleman and Manning (that's it, no other quarterbacks) are going to be the go-to downfield connection on offense, and the fact that they're already showing an ability to link up is huge for the Horns' season.
