The Texas Longhorns just kicked off official visit weekend with a bang.
Between prospects already committed to the Texas Tech Red Raiders, to recruits who are leaning toward other programs, to players committed to the Horns, every single person who set foot on the 40 Acres was undeniably impressed.
While all of that is true, outside of three-star wide receiver Briceson Thrower committing to Texas two weeks before he even took his official visit, none of those other prospects have announced their commitments to the Longhorns... yet.
However, the weekend did bring the reinstatement of a big time prospect's commitment to the Horns.
"Big thanks to [Texas football] for hosting the OV! I appreciate everything they’ve done to me and my family. A moment never forgotten. HOOKEM," Cameron Hall wrote on X. "HOOK’EM! Committed."

The four-star edge rusher in the class of 2027 committed to Texas in January, but just took his official visit over the past weekend. What followed was none other than Hall doubling down on his commitment to the Horns and head coach Steve Sarkisian.
Cameron Hall's single official visit to Texas did its job
According to On3, the trip to the 40 Acres was the only official visit on Hall's calendar. Clearly, the weekend visit to Austin did what it was intended to.
His commitment from five months earlier was only reinforced by his OV, which was exactly why Sarkisian and the Horns wanted him and a few other Texas commits to come to town.
Hall wasn't the only Longhorn commit to take an official visit over the weekend. He was joined by future teammates four-star tight end Brock Williams, four-star running back Noah Roberts, and four-star defensive lineman Derwin Fields.

Hall is a top-150 prospect in the 2027 recruiting cycle. He ranks as the No. 16 edge rusher in the class of 2027 and the No. 18 recruit out of the state of Texas. Hall chose the Horns over a slew of other in-state teams, including the TCU Horned Frogs, the Texas A&M Aggies, and more.
Cameron Hall (EDGE) high school stats
Of course, there's a reason that so many schools extended offers to Hall. The edge rusher dominated the varsity football scene throughout his first two seasons in high school.
- 86 total tackles (70 solo)
- 24 tackles for loss
- 14 sacks for 82 yards
- 4 hurries
- 3 pass deflections
- 2 forced fumbles
With double-digit sacks already to his name, Hall has been an undeniable beast on the line of scrimmage, forcing quarterbacks to scramble and, for the most part, lose their senses.
Texas recruiting class of 2027 commitments
Hall is part of a top-15 class set to join the Longhorns next year that includes a dozen blue-chip recruits, and is one of the highest-rated prospects in the group.
- Easton Royal, five-star wide receiver
- Brock Williams, four-star tight end
- Cameron Hall, four-star EDGE
- Derwin Fields, four-star EDGE
- Noah Roberts, four-star running back
- Briceson Thrower, three-star wide receiver
- Keyon Hemphill-Woods, three-star interior offensive lineman
- Greedy James, three-star safety
- Cade Haug, three-star linebacker
- Ty Knutson, three-star quarterback
- JT Geraci, three-star tight end
- Jackson Cook, three-star interior offensive lineman
This group ranks No. 15 in the national standings and No. 6 in the SEC, a step below what Longhorn Nation has come to expect of its recruiting classes.

With two more weekends of official visits still to come for the Horns, Sarkisian and his staff will undoubtedly land more blue-chip commitments, hopefully sending Texas's class up the national and conference rankings.
