Less than two weeks after the Longhorns' regular season came to an end, Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian is seemingly losing staff members left and right.

Following in the footsteps of running backs coach Chad Scott and Director of Scouting Errin Joe, analyst Tyler Allen has decided to take a new job with another program.

Allen, who played college football, joined the Longhorns ahead of the 2025 season after spending a few years with the West Virginia Mountaineers, and is now set to become the quarterbacks coach for the North Texas Mean Green.

Texas Longhorns loses another staff member

Allen is joining Joe at North Texas, with the former Texas Director of Scouting taking a job as the General Manager of the Mean Green.

Joe, Allen, and Scott all spent just one year on Sarkisian's staff, but they also all made an immediate impact on the program, especially on the recruiting trail.

While the No. 13 Longhorns did earn a spot in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl Game, where they will face the No. 18 Michigan Wolverines, the team did miss out on a third consecutive berth in the College Football Playoff.

The Playoff berth undeniably could have kept these assistants and staff members with the program for at least a few more weeks, if not a handful of months.

While Sarkisian has quickly and continuously shut down rumors of him leaving the program anytime soon, the losses will certainly be felt as the Horns go through the process of preparing for a postseason game, especially against one of the top dogs from the Big Ten.

On New Year's Eve (Dec. 31), the Longhorns (likely without Joe, Allen, and Scott) and the Wolverines are scheduled to kick off at 2 p.m. CT, and the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl will be broadcast on ABC.
