Texas football has had an eventful past few days, beginning with one of the bigger headlines of Jack Endries being named to two preseason award watch lists. Despite it only being his first season as a Longhorn in 2025 and being in a new offensive system, the national media and voting committee still believes that he'll have an incredibly productive season.

Endries named to two prestigious watch lists, alongside OSU's Jeremiah Smith

Jack Endries was named to both the John Mackey Award watch list (nation's best tight end) and the Biletnikoff Award watch list (most outstanding overall receiver) last week.

Steve Sarkisian loves to utilize tight ends in different, exciting ways in his offense and Endries could play an incredibly big role in 2025.

Texas trying to flip 4-star cornerback from Georgia

Over the past couple of weeks, it seems like the Longhorns have been making more of a push for 2026 Georgia commit Justice Fitzpatrick. The 4-star cornerback recruit has the ability and potential to play an immediate role as a true freshman for any Power 4 team.

The younger brother of Pittsburgh Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick recently told Marcus Benjamin of Rivals.com that both Texas and Miami have been contacting him more often.

Former Texas edge rusher dominating in Packers training camp

Former Longhorns pass rusher Barryn Sorrell has been looking incredibly good in training camp for Green Bay over the past week or so, and he appears to be climbing up the depth chart at an alarming rate.

He's been consistently working with the 2nd-team defense already, ahead of some guys that the Packers like. Though he's listed as 3rd on the team's first unofficial depth chart, he's actually been work ahead of Brenton Cox Jr.

BONUS: Ex-Longhorns star carted off the field in training camp, injury update revealed

The Dallas Cowboys experienced a pretty big scare the other day when former Texas Longhorns running back and 5th-round draft pick, Jaydon Blue, suffered a lower-body injury during practice.

According to his recent MRI, there appears to be no structural damage and it looks like he just has a bad bone contusion on his foot. Excellent news for the Cowboys as Blue has been looking excellent throughout camp.
