Quite simply, Vic Schaefer can't stop winning. At the end of the month of April, Schaefer brought in some huge names from the transfer portal, only further beefing up his already stingy defensive unit.
Most recently, Schaefer poached a player from a fellow SEC program, the Missouri Tigers, when guard Ashton Judd committed to play for him and the Texas Longhorns. Judd, who played three seasons for the Tigers before entering the transfer portal, put up 13 points on the Horns last season.
Judd and Missouri didn't have the most successful 2024-25 season, finishing with a 14-18 overall record and in 13th place in the SEC standings. However, Judd produced the third most points, third most assists, second most rebounds, and second most steals on the entire Tiger roster.
Last season, Judd averaged 11.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.0 steals per game while starting in 28 of Missouri's 32 games.

Ashton Judd college career stats
- 10.7 points per game
- 4.7 rebounds per game
- 1.2 assists per game
- 0.8 steals per game
- 0.3 blocks per game
Despite being just 6-foot-1, Judd is a monster on the glass and has a great presence in the paint, adding to the deep-range success that current Texas guards Jordan Lee and Breanna Preston have. Her minimal height will be a great addition alongside the Longhorns' current starting point guard, Rori Harmon, who is listed at just 5-foot-6.
Also joining the Horns' roster this week is former Utah Utes and Boston College Eagles forward Teya Sidberry, who also has one season of eligibility remaining. Earlier this offseason, former Atlantic center Lovisa Asbrink Hose and former Arizona forward Breya Cunningham committed to Texas as well.
