Over a year ago, five-star quarterback Dia Bell committed to the Texas Longhorns. On Saturday, he was on the sidelines as the Horns upset their rivals, the Texas A&M Aggies.

Before the rivalry matchup kicked off, a handful of current Texas stars made sure to go up to Bell and make sure their future teammate felt welcomed in his future home: Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.

Star linebacker Colin Simmons (sophomore) and senior offensive linemen DJ Campbell and Connor Robertson went up to Bell to greet him, some well-deserved recognition for a quarterback who is primed to become a Longhorn legend.

Dia Bell is ready to be a Longhorn

Since committing to Texas, Bell has been nothing but loyal to the Horns and head coach Steve Sarkisian, even doing what he can to bring in more blue-chip prospects for his future team.

Throughout his recruiting process, he has taken eight trips to Austin to spend time with the Longhorns, including his visit on Saturday evening. In comparison, he has taken only four trips to Ohio State or Penn State, the two programs with the second-most visits from the young QB.

Bell is part of Texas's class of 2026, which ranks seventh in the country and third in the SEC, only trailing the Georgia Bulldogs and Alabama Crimson Tide (for now). He is the No. 2 quarterback in the class and is the No. 1 prospect out of the state of Florida.

The future Longhorn isn't the only elite quarterback prospect to head to Austin, joining current Texas backup quarterback KJ Lacey, who was the No. 13 QB in the class of 2025, and the Horns' starting QB Arch Manning, who was the No. 1 overall prospect in the class of 2023.

Having Bell on the sidelines as Texas stormed past the Aggies could only help to cement his commitment to the Longhorns. At the end of the day, who wouldn't want to be a part of a team that seemingly owns its rivals?
