Fall camp begins on Wednesday, and Ethan Burke along with others, needs to have a big camp in order to solidify himself as the starting defensive end opposite Colin Simmons. If he doesn't there are a couple of other edge rushers on the team who could take advantage of the uncertainty there.
Burke, Livingstone, and January need to step up
DE Ethan Burke, WR Parker Livingstone, and DT Alex January have to "up their game" in camp if they want to be heavily involved in 2025.
Each of these players have an incredible amount of competition for reps going forward, and fall camp is one of their last chances to solidify their roles for the upcoming season.
Manning and Wisner named to preseason Maxwell Award watch list
QB Arch Manning and RB Quintrevion Wisner were officially named to the preseason watch list for the Maxwell Award, given to the best collegiate football player in the nation.

Texas has four former Maxwell Award winners in its history: LB Tommy Nobis in 1965, RB Ricky Williams in 1998, QB Vince Young in 2005, and QB Colt McCoy in 2009.
Multiple Longhorns land on the SEC's All-2020s team
The SEC recently released its All-2020s team, and Texas has two former players on the list, one on each side of the football.
Interestingly enough, both Longhorn players were recently selected in April's 2025 NFL Draft.
