In what has started to feel like a shopping spree for the Texas Longhorns, official visit season has been as busy as ever for head coach Steve Sarkisian.
For the second weekend in a row, Sark and the Horns are scheduled to host nearly a dozen blue-chip prospects on their official visits to the 40 Acres. Hopefully, just like last weekend, it will be followed by a handful of official commitments, too.
That includes two Texas commits dropping in to check on their future program: four-star wide receiver Briceson Thrower and three-star interior offensive lineman Jackson Cook, alongside eight other prospects.

Additionally, Texas is set to host two prospects committed to other programs: Ben’Jarvius Shumaker, a four-star defensive lineman committed to the Ole Miss Rebels, and Amari Vickerson, a three-star defensive lineman committed to the SMU Mustangs.

- Izzy Hammons, four-star linebacker
- Montre Jackson, four-star cornerback

- Brian Swanson, four-star offensive tackle
- Caleb Siler, three-star offensive tackle
- Amari Vickerson, three-star defensive lineman, SMU commit
- Kyron Brown, three-star wide receiver
- Jackson Cook, three-star interior offensive lineman, Texas commit
Beyond the Texas commits and players committed to other programs, there are six recruits coming to Austin who Sarkisian and his staff need to pay attention to. Most notably, four-star defensive lineman Mitchell Turner and four-star linebacker Izzy Hammons, who would be cherries on top of an already blossoming class of 2027 for the Longhorns.
While Turner is reportedly leaning toward Ole Miss or the Alabama Crimson Tide, Sarkisian could work his recruiting magic during the defensive lineman's official visit to sway him in the Horns' direction.
Hammons is split between Texas and an in-state team, the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Getting a win over the Big 12 program would be a great step in Sarkisian capping off an elite run on the recruiting trail.
Every time a recruit comes to Austin (whether they are committed to Texas, committed to another program, or still uncommitted), it is critical for Sarkisian and the Longhorns to be at their best. So with that in mind, the next week or so could truly make or break Texas's next few years in the SEC and on the national stage.

Beyond this weekend, Sarkisian and his staff are scheduled to host a third weekend of official visits one week from now, including trips for current Texas recruit Easton Royal, who has been playing coy with his commitment to the Horns.
Currently, Texas's class of 2027 ranks 10th in the nation, ahead of the Big Ten's Michigan Wolverines. It ranks fourth in the conference rankings behind the Texas A&M Aggies, Oklahoma Sooners, and Florida Gators.
A few more blue-chip commitments and the Horns could see themselves leapfrogging the Gators, at the very least, as well as a few teams that are ahead of them in the national rankings.
